Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18th at 2:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Dora May Grace Credeur. Dora peacefully passed away Tuesday, June 15th surrounded by loved ones at The Carpenter House Hospice Center. Dora May was born January 13, 1947 in Alameda, California and experienced many travels as the daughter of a Naval Officer. Her family later made Louisiana their home.
Deacon Byrne Winn will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Abshire Cemetery in Kaplan.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 on Friday in the Funeral Home Chapel.
She is survived by one Daughter, Helen Delcambre and her husband Mark of Youngsville; one son James Gary and his companion Sheila Hebert of New Iberia; her step-daughter Vickie Polk of Broussard; 2 step sons, William Credeur of St. Petersburg, Fl and Louis “Geno” Credeur and his wife, Donna of Smiths Grove, Ky.; 4 siblings, Jim Grace and his wife Anita of Las Vegas, Nevada, Steven Grace and his wife Karen from Beechmont, KY, Tina Newman and her husband Scott of Omaha, Nebraska and Kathy Davis of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by one Granddaughter Morgan Girouard and her husband Felix of Youngsville, as well as 5 Grandsons, Myles Delcambre & his wife Claire of Playa Del Ray, CA, Matthew Gary of New Iberia, Nicholas Gary of Odessa, TX, William Polk & his wife Lydia of Broussard, and Jimmy Polk of Broussard; and one Great Granddaughter – Olivia Girouard.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lovelace Credeur, former husband Loveless Rayburn and her first husband Wilbert Gary as well as her parents Vilace & Helen Grace and one brother Raymond Grace.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, her Oncologist, Dr. Joseph Brierre and a special thanks to Dr. Sai Chennamsetty for their compassionate and caring treatment. A special thanks to The Carpenter House for the amazing care they provided her last few days and Amelia Manor Nursing Home staff, Davita Dialysis and Dr. Clark & his staff for the care they have provided over the years.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Joseph Hospice or National Kidney Foundation in her memory.
