Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for Huxton Paul Matte, 3, who passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 6:44 P.M. at Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point.
Pastor Chris Frye, Pastor of New Hope Church in Eunice will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard.
The family has requested visitation to be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. until time of services on Thursday all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point.
Survivors include his parents, Clint Matte and Tia Prather of Branch; two brothers, Bentley and Coltin Matte both of Branch; his paternal grandparents, James and Melissa D. Matte of Branch; his maternal grandparents, Joe and Wanda Comeaux of Richard; and Timmy Prather of Richard; his paternal great-grandmother, Bertha Matte of Richard; his paternal great-grandfather, Redley Denais of Richard; his maternal great-grandmother, Eldine Richard of Richard; his Godparents, Cody and Tayler Prather of Richard; two uncles, Logan and Karson Matte; aunts, Jourdan Matte and Amie Thibodeaux; cousins, Bradley, Matilda, and Dax.
Huxton was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, CJ Matte; his maternal great-grandfather, Charles Richard; his maternal great-grandparents, Early and Shirley Prather; his paternal great-grandmother, Bertha Denais; cousins, Meredith Prather, Brock LeBouef, Haddie Babineaux, Kathy Richard, little Ron Richard and Brilan Richard.
