Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Crowley for Wilbert “Lefty” Jones Morgan, 77, who died at 5:56 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Crowley, LA.
Rev. Kerry Doucet will officiate the funeral services and Jimmy Broussard will provide the music for the service. The burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Morgan was born June 28, 1944 in Kaplan, LA to Roy and Elsie Duhon Morgan. He owned and operated Lefty’s Exterminating for many years. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 5499. He loved baseball and enjoyed coaching for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Guidry Morgan; 1 daughter, Melissa Morgan of Crowley; 3 sons Malcolm Morgan and wife Juley of Ball, LA, Jerrid Morgan and his wife Odelia of Crowley and Christopher Morgan and fiancé Lindsay of Crowley; 3 sisters Elaine Morgan of Sulphur and Marlene Adams of Kaplan, La; 1 brother Thomas J. Morgan of Rayne, LA; 7 grandchildren, Trevor Morgan and wife Hannah, Katelyn Binns, McKenzie Morgan, Aiden Trahan, Renesmae Morgan, Bentley Morgan and Elliana Morgan and 4 great grandchildren, Bailee Morgan, Addyson Binns, Levi Morgan and Paisley Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Morgan, Sr. and Elsie Duhon Morgan; 2 sisters, Loretta Morgan and Melba Morgan; 2 brothers, J.L. Morgan and Roy Morgan; 1 granddaughter, Madison Morgan and 1 great grandson, Alaric Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Chris Morgan, Malcolm Morgan, Trevor Morgan, Buck Morgan, Jason Morgan, Timmy Comeaux and Craig Adams.
