Obituary for Kerney Joseph Carriere

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Church Point, LA for Kerney Joseph Carriere, 80, who died at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Lafayette, LA.
Deacon Byrne Winn will celebrate the services and the burial will follow in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus Council 7568 of Scott, LA. Visitation may be observed on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Carriere was born September 11, 1941 in Branch, LA to Cleve and Cedia Young Carriere. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country. He worked many years offshore in the oilfield.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Jael Thibodeaux and her husband, Jody of Church Point, Karmon Moosa and her husband, Greg of Eunice and Stacey Carriere of Youngsville; 1 sister, Shirley C. Simon of Rayne; 1 brother, Darrell Carriere of Lake Charles and 4 grandchildren, Matthew Thibodeaux, Maggie Thibodeaux, Ellen LeBlanc and Austin Moosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Veronica Williams Carriere; a brother James Carriere; sister-in-law, Kay Carriere and a brother-in-law, Dudley Simon.
