A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Church of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mire, LA. for Delton Jude Cahanin, 71, who died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022 in Lafayette.
Msgr. Russell J. Harrington will celebrate the Mass and the burial will follow in the Assumption Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
Mr. Delton was born July 2, 1950 in Higginbotham, LA. He worked as a welder and fabricator for O’Neal Steel for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and playing cards. He loved barbeques and family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Lois Estilette Cahanin; his twin brother, Elton Cahanin and his wife, Kay of Mire; several loving nieces and nephews and godchildren and his furry pet, Prince.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Susie Cahanin.
