Rayne- Mr. Norris Guidry Sr. (89), a lifelong resident of Rayne passed away at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA after a brief illness on Friday, June 17.
Deacon Denis Lacroix will celebrate the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Interment will follow at St Joseph's Cemetery in Rayne. Visitation may be observed on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Monday.
Mr. Guidry was the last surviving child of Michel and Adelicia (Leger) Guidry. Notable to his life was service in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from the City of Rayne Street Department after more than 20 years of service. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife Eunella Breaux Guidry.
Surviving him are his children Michael (Brenda) Guidry, Allen Keith (Mindy) Guidry, Gloria Ann (Kenneth) Bourque, and Norris (Adelle) Guidry Jr., Nora Aileen Lafleur, their children and grandchildren.
Pall Bearers will be Ryan Guidry, Brock Guidry, Chad Guidry, Ty Guidry, T.J. Lafleur and Walton Thibodeaux.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation to The Alzheimer's Association at www.Alz.org be made in the name of Mr. Guidry.
