Obituary for Thelma Wirtz Girard
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22. 2022 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Crowley for Thelma Wirtz Girard, 89, who died at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Crowley.
Deacon Byrne Winn will celebrate the funeral services and the burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Girard was born October 15, 1932 in Crowley to Joseph and Nedia Monceaux Wirtz. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Lena Mathews and her husband Al of Crowley; 2 adopted daughters, Julie Richardson of Ohio and Teresa Persechino of Canada; 3 sons, Lawrence T-Boy Kibodeaux of Crowley; Ronald Kibodeaux and his wife, Maggie of Chauvin and John Johnny Boy Kibodeaux and his wife Deanie of Crowley; 2 brothers, Raymond Wirtz of Scott and Jimmy Wirtz of Crowley; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Joseph Dupre Kibodeaux; 2nd husband, Ulysse Girard; 4 children, Linda Kibodeaux, Robert Robbie Kibodeaux, Terry Kibodeaux, Sr. and Norma Faye Perry Kibodeaux; 2 sisters, Betty Guidry and Ruby Cart; 1 brother, Junior Wirtz and 1 great-great grandson, Ryan James Cormier.
