Obituary for Jarala Hanks Bourque
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Rayne for Jarala Hanks Bourque, 84, who died at 12:25 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2022 in Rayne, LA.
Deacon Denis Lacroix will celebrate the services and the burial will follow in the Saint Joseph II Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Bourque was born October 28, 1937 in Lafayette Parish to Leza “Beck” Hanks and Sarah Arceneaux. She worked as a Dietician at L.J. Alleman in Lafayette. She was a longtime member of The Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed Horses, going to the races and listening to Loretta Lynn. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Andress Joseph Bourque of Duson; daughter, Amelia Conrad of Duson; 2 grandsons, Edward and (Drake) Faulk of Texas and Andress “Andy” and (Robin) McClain of PA; step-great granddaughter, Shelbie Rogers Mhire (Cameron); 4 great grandchildren, Levi, Clara, Andi and Jane Conrad and 1 adopted family member, Earl J. Conrad of FL.
She was preceded in Death by her parents and her son-in-law, Charles K. Conrad, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Earl Conrad, Steve Hanks, Anson Bourque, Allen Bourque, Michael Cormier and Gerald Lavergne. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Lyons.
