Obituary for Louis Joseph Guidry

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church for Louis Joseph Guidry, 88, who died at 7:37 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at his residence Lyons Point, LA.
Fr. Arokia Dass will celebrate the mass and the burial will follow in the Saint John the Baptist Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Guidry was born February 15, 1934 to Charles and Delzan Bertrand Guidry. He was an electrician with A.J. Toups and son for many years and retired in 1989. He was an active member of the Crowley Dedicated Men’s Club. He was a crawfish and cattle farmer. He was a loyal caregiver to his mother.  He was a hard-working man and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by 5 daughters, Marlene Williams (David) of Jennings, Martha Hollier (Wayne) of Crowley, Cynthia Hollie of Estherwood, Claudette Primeaux (Wendall) of Lyons Point and Lisa Regan (Dwayne) of Broussard; 2 sons, Norman Joseph Guidry (Melissa) of Lyons Point and Alan Guidry (Tammy) of Broussard; 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorita Istre Guidry; son-in-law, Alton R. Hollie, Jr.; 1 brother, Ozonne Guidry and 2 sisters, Una Menard, and Esther Henry.
