Obituary for Robert Joseph Comeaux Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Crowley for Robert Joseph Comeaux, Sr., 92, who died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022 in Youngsville, LA.
Deacon Byrne Winn will officiate the funeral service and the burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Robert was born November 29, 1929 in Youngsville to Morenas and Nolia Breaux Comeaux. He worked most of his life as a mechanic and later in life he worked for the Oddfellows Home in Crowley. He was the first fire chief for the Coteau Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed camping and fishing and his little red truck. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Nell Delahoussaye and her husband, Danna of Youngsville; 2 sons, Neil Comeaux and his wife, Marlene of Youngsville and Robert Comeaux, Jr. and his wife, Anita of Youngsville; step-daughter-in-law, Kay Breaux of Lafayette; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Evola Gary Comeaux; 2nd wife, Isabelle Abshire Comeaux; 1 son, Ned Comeaux, Sr.; 1 brother, Larry Comeaux and 3 sisters, Anna Bell Murray, Merline Dubois, and Janelle Vallot and a stepson, Terry Breaux.
Pallbearers will be; Cory Delahoussaye, Robert Comeaux, Jr., Jonathon Comeaux, Jeremy Comeaux, Blake Romero, and Taylor Broussard.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Neil Comeaux, Roland Romero, Justin Delahoussaye, Kalem Delahoussaye, Russell Romero, Danna Delahoussaye and Russell Gaspard.
