Obituary for Michael Dewayne Burnett
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Rayne, LA for Michael Dewayne Burnett, 61, who died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2023 at his residence.
Deacon Byrne Winn will officiate the funeral and the burial will follow in the Saint Joseph II Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Burnett was born March 16, 1961 in Rayne, LA. He worked as a superintendant for many construction companies. He liked to fish and do woodworking in his shop. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Burnett of Rayne; his son, Dr. Clayton Burnett and his wife, Savannah of Lake Charles; his mother, Ann Mouton of Rayne; 2 sisters, Sheri Mouton of Colorado and Stace Simon and her husband, Paul of Rayne; 2 Brothers, Shannon Mouton of False River and Shad Mouton of Rayne; 2 grandchildren, Vivienne and Liam Burnett and his 3 godchildren, Matthew Rourke, Hailei Simon and Brandon Dupont.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alex Henry Burnett and his step-father, Ed Mouton.
