Obituary for Uta Okouchi Guidry
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Uta Okouchi Guidry, 90, who passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 6:20 A.M. at Pelican Point Nursing Home in Maurice.
Deacon Denis LaCroix from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery in Rayne.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Visitation will resume on Friday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include one daughter, Fay Guidry of Rayne; two sons, James Guidry and fiancé Sherri Arcement of Lafayette, Charles and Debbie Guidry of Church Point; one brother, Isamu Okouchi of Yokohoma, Japan; two sisters, Riyoko Ishii of Tokyo, Japan, and Tomiko Okouchi of Yokohama, Japan; one brother-in-law, Gardiner Thomas of Annaco; five grandchildren, Chris Guidry and Kelsey Busby, Elizabeth Guidry, Brittany Guidry and Brenan Stuart, Brandon and wife Amy Guidry, Michael Richard; eight great-grandchildren, Lana, Daxton, Daygen, Jayden, Jericho, Colton, Gracie, and Ayla; three step-daughters, Pauline and husband, Don Etter of Superior, NB, Lucile Larkin of Patchogue, NY, and Betty Jean Toney of Jacksonville, FL.
Ms. Guidry was preceded in death by her husband, Honore D. Guidry; one daughter, Ann Guidry; her parents, Shinsaku and Etuko I. Okouchi; one brother, sister, June Thomas, and one other sister; two step-daughters, Virginia Waters, and Mary Lou Guidry.
