Obituary for Cynthia Marie Geerts
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Egan for Cynthia M. Geerts, 56, who passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 4:50 P.M.
Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Egan will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Sensat Cemetery in Egan.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Egan Community Center in Egan. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Egan Community Center in Egan. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include her husband of thirty nine years, Paul Geerts of Evangeline; three sons, Colby and wife, Lauren Geerts of Evangeline, Christopher and wife, Ashley Geerts of Henderson, and Deveret Geerts of Lafayette; one daughter, Paula and husband, Dustin Mayeaux of Thibodaux; her mother, Elsie J. Schexnayder of Scott; one brother, Darrell Schexnayder of Scott; six grandchildren, Laison, Remy, Keeleigh, Kanxton, Landry, and Annamae.
Mrs. Geerts was preceded in death by her father, Ibray J. Schexnayder.
