A Going Home celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Sanctuary of Worship for Amanda Jane Sias, 55, who peacefully transitioned at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2023 in Lafayette, LA.
Pastor Reggie Hilts will celebrate the funeral services and the burial will follow in the Community Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Ms. Sias was born, May 28, 1967 in Rayne, LA to the late Dorothy Sias. She was an educator and taught school for over 28 years. She touched the lives of students in the New Orleans area, Lafayette Parish, Dallas/ Ft. Worth and Acadia Parish. She was a loyal New Orleans Saints fan. She loved her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and the children she taught. She was a faithful and loyal servant of the Lord. She was raised in the Catholic Church and has been a member of sanctuary of Worship for 5 years.
She is survived by her siblings, Elaine Sias, Barbara Sias, Michael Sias, Karen Dugar, La Shonda Sias, Betty McKay, Emeldia Dugar, and Michael Sias; 1 uncle, Curley Sias and 1 aunt, Delores Woods; 4 godchildren, Patrick Senegal, Alexandra Baptiste, Maya Scott and Paul Ivan Guillory, III; host of cousins, Nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Sias; father, Felix Dugar, Jr.; 4 sisters, Jessica Sias, Pearl Conales, Dora Dugar and Janet Sias;3 brothers, Donald ray Sias, Sr., Joseph Dugar and Michael Dugar and a niece, Tiara Dugar.
