Obituary for Ethel Istre Leger
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley for Ethel M. Leger, 90, who passed away February 3, 2023 at 10:03 P.M. at Southwind Healthcare in Crowley.
Fr. Janise, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Abshire Cemetery in rural Kaplan.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Tuesday in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Survivors include her husband of seventy-four years, Clifford Leger of Lyons Point; five daughters, Sherry Terro of Lyons Point, Linda and husband, Jerry Doucet of Rayne, Stephanie and husband, James LaBove of Crowley, Josephine Breaux and companion, Anthony Louvierre of Lyons Point, Margaret Richard and companion, Steve Faulk of Crowley; eighteen grandchildren, fifty-seven great-grandchildren, and twenty three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Leger was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, Kyle Doucet, Kyle Nolan and Raylyn Mouton; her parents, Sayou and Josephine B. Istre; and seven siblings.
Pallbearers for the services will be Melvin Leger, James Doucet, Clifford LaBove, Dameon Breaux, Dominick Mouton, and Anthony Nolan. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Kevin Breaux, Bryan Mouton, Jerry Doucet, Jr., and Rogers Doucet.
