Obituary—Margorie Spell Terro, 1942-2023
Margorie Spell Terro passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023. She was born in Crowley, Louisiana, on August 23, 1942, to Louis and Mabel Spell, the second of five children. She married R.C. Terro and had four children. Margie earned an associate degree from UL Lafayette and served as an adult education teacher and as an aide with an alternative school where she helped many people improve their lives.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, R.C., her sister, Dorothy, and her brother, Louis, Jr. She is survived by her brothers Douglas and Paul Spell, her daughters,Belinda, Colleen, and Lonna, and her son, Buryl. Her grandchildren will also miss her: Joshua, Jarred, Hailey, Jordan, Jacinta, Shannon, Joy, Jake, Logan, Ashton, Gianna, and Justin; and her great-grandchildren: Damien, Gwendolyn, Lucas, Sylvia, and Emma. Margie was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral Mass is planned for Monday, February 13, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Leroy, Louisiana. The burial will follow in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery. The family has requested visitation be observed on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at The Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Rayne.
