Obituary for Leon James LeJeune
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Richard for Leon J. LeJeune, 75, who passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 6:30 A. M. at Encore Nursing Home in Crowley.
Fr. Kory LaVergne, Pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Wednesday in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Visitation will resume on Thursday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife of fifty six years, Dolores T. LeJeune of Richard; two sons, Ronald and wife, Jeanette LeJeune of Richard, Scott LeJeune of Richard; one sister, Shirlene Labbie of Church Point; five grandchildren, Krystle, and husband, Eric Richard of Richard, Slate and wife, Ariel LeJeune of Richard, Travis LeJeune and finance, Caitlyn Arnaud of Broussard, Logan and wife, Lindsey LeJeune of Richard; Gavin LeJeune of Richard; ten great-grandchildren, Kiah Haven Richard, Ava Grace Richard, Tucker Richard, Ryker Roonie Richard, Colton James LeJeune, Jaxton Lee LeJeune, Paisleigh Jane LeJeune, Layne Jacob LeJeune, Jensen Kaleb LeJeune, and Annaleigh Joy LeJeune.
Mr. LeJeune was preceded in death by two sons, Damon and Joseph LeJeune; his parents, Dupre and Lenora LeJeune; his maternal grandparents, Steven and Amy LeJeune; one brother, Roger LeJeune.
Mr. Leon loved spending time with his family, was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed camping and talking about his career driving trucks, and how he drove over a million miles. He played Bass guitar for a Cajun French Band for several years. Most of all he Loved Jesus Christ.
