Obituary for Genevieve Duplechain Greenman
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Saint Michael the archangel Catholic Church for Genevieve Duplechain Greenman, 96, who died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023 in Rayne, LA.
Fr. Mark Odoguje will officiate the services and the burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family request visitation be observed on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Greenman was born April 9, 1926 in Estherwood to Joseph and Zelia Leger Duplechain. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Saint Michaels.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Perkins of Scott; 2 sons, Richard Greenman of Crowley and John Greenman and his wife, Paula of Crowley; 2 sisters, Joyce Benoit of Houston, TX and Abby Duplechain of Crowley; 5 grandchildren, Cynthia Perkins, Andrea Greenman, Brittany Fabacher, Sean Greenman and Caitlyn Greenman and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Greenman, Jr.; 1 grandson, Chad Perkins; 1 great granddaughter, Everly Mounier; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
