Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Rayne, for Louis Chiasson, 87, who died at 3:25 a.m. Sunday, April 9, 2023 at his residence in Mire.
MSGR Russell Harrington will officiate the funeral services and the burial will follow in the Estherwood Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Chiasson was born November 15, 1935 in Rayne, LA to Wilton and Helen Comeaux Chiasson, Sr. He worked most of his life as a mechanic / Truck Driver. He enjoyed hunting, camping and working on vehicles. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Judy Venable and her husband, Ken of Mire and Carleen Venable of Mire; 1 brother-in-law, Robert Myers of Lawtell; 4 sister-in-laws, Patsy Chiasson of Rayne, Hilda Chiasson of New Iberia Belinda Chiasson, and Linda Chiasson; 7 grandchildren, Michael Chiasson, Sara Nero (Richard), April Stelly (Jerritt), Brandon Venable (Elizabeth), Trenton Venable (Alana), Chad thibodeaux (Ashley), Sadie Venable and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elta Mae Myers; 2 sons, Allen Chiasson and Frank Chiasson; infant daughter, Amelia Louise Chiasson and 3 brothers, Wilton Chiasson, Jr., Wilbert “bud” Chiasson and Richard Chiasson.
