Obituary for Michael Richard
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton for Michael Richard, 71, who passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:16 P.M. at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette.
Fr. Kenneth Domingue, Pastor of St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. John Berchman Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Helen T. Richard of Church Point; one son, Shane and wife, Haley Richard of Church Point; two daughters, Dawn Richard of Church Point, and Dana Richard of Church Point; one sister, Jean Benoit of Arnaudville; two brothers, Randy Richard of Church Point, and Harold and wife, Renella Richard of Duson; six grandchildren, Lindsey and husband, Jeff Trahan, C.J. and wife, Kara Guidry, Chelsea Desoto, Ayla, Gage, and Paxton Richard; two great-grandchildren, Bexley and Oran.
Pallbearers for the service will be C.J. Guidry, Mark Richard, Kelly Richard, Lane Richard, Brian Thibodeaux, and Mike Thibodeaux. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Gage, and Paxton Richard.
Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John and Francis D. Richard; two brothers, Larry and Kenneth Richard; one sister, Janelle Richard.
