In June 2008 she began her funeral director internship under the supervision of her mother, completing her exam with the Louisiana State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors to become a licensed funeral director in July 2009.
Service in the work sector not being the only expression of her desire to help others, she is also a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard serving as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the finance committee. Melinda’s business training and public service experience combine to provide her with the basics needed to run a business. These basics, coupled with the passion of faith and parenthood, as well as the moral character instilled by her parents, create in Melinda the traits necessary for the demanding, yet compassionate calling of funeral service.
For recreation Melinda enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and supporting her children and grandchildren in school and sporting events.
